Canal Shores Capital Campaign

In partnership with the Evanston Wilmette Golf Association, KemperSports, the Western Golf Association, and First Tee – Greater Chicago, Canal Shores will undergo a bold restoration plan to preserve and enhance the 103-year-old golf course and create opportunities for local youth.

As a key partner in the project, we are launching a $500,000 capital campaign to support a First Tee Youth Campus at Canal Shores that will enable us to:

  • Impact the youth of Evanston, Wilmette and surrounding communities through our life skills programming, a reimagined practice area, and on-course access
  • Create a unique opportunity for our First Tee participants to become caddies and pursue Evans Scholarships, in partnership with the Western Golf Association
  • Continue our concerted efforts to connect with local schools and community organizations to expand our programming to kids in all regions of Chicago

The Canal Shores campaign will roll into a longer-term effort to grow our footprint through innovative new youth facilities across the Chicagoland area. Plans to include additional investments in other parts of the city, including the south and west sides.
